   Images and reply emails on feature requests

   Comments on the feature request board can now include images: attach, paste, or drop a screenshot. When Yi replies to a request you posted or voted for, you get an email. You can turn these off in your board profile.

   Breakdown export

   The Breakdown report can be saved as a CSV file. It exports the period, type, and accounts you are looking at, one row per category.

   Payee when paying a scheduled transaction

   The Pay window now has a Payee field, so you can change the payee for that one payment. The scheduled transaction keeps its own payee.

   Feature requests

   There is now a public board for ideas. Post what you would like GreenBooks to do, vote for requests from other people, and comment on them. Pick a nickname and an avatar first; your email is never shown.

   Adding accounts to a connected bank

   Add Account now lists your connected banks. Choose one to add more of its accounts, such as a credit card you left out the first time. Before, reconnecting the same bank showed only the accounts already linked, so a newly shared account could not be added. Accounts already linked are not touched.

   Split transaction fixes

   • Saving a split transaction twice in quick succession could duplicate its splits. Split totals are now checked before changes are committed.
   • A split that runs the opposite way from its transaction, such as a deduction inside a deposit, now shows its sign in the editor.
   • After typing a category name in a split, pressing Enter or clicking elsewhere keeps the completed name. Before, it could be dropped and the transaction saved without it.
   • A transaction whose splits do not add up keeps its editor open until they do, or until you cancel. Clicking elsewhere, double-clicking another row, or starting a new transaction no longer discards it.

   Check numbers

   A transaction now has its own check number field rather than the number being tacked onto the note, the same as in the Mac and iOS apps. It shows as a small badge next to the payee, and search finds it. Imports and bank reconciliation fill it in on their own.

   Repeat every so many days

   A scheduled transaction can now repeat on a number of days rather than a day of the week or month. Choose Custom, then Daily, and set the interval — every 28 days lands 28 days later each time, so it moves through the month instead of holding a date. Useful for anything paid on a cycle rather than a calendar.

   Search the scheduled list

   The Scheduled page has a search box. Type a payee, an amount, an account or a category to check whether a bill is already scheduled — useful once the list is long enough that scrolling it is a chore.

    Resize the register columns

    Drag the divider on the right edge of any column header to make that column wider or narrower. Long payee names no longer have to fit the width we picked. Your columns are remembered on that computer.

    After 15 years of GreenBooks on the Mac and iPhone, we are finally releasing the next generation of GreenBooks, made for the web. Building for the web lets us improve the app much faster. Every enhancement we make will be posted on this page as soon as it is released.
